The Writers Association of Cuba invites you to participate in the 2nd Poetry National Meeting which will be celebrated from March 20th to March 22nd, 2017

Program

March 20th

9.30 a.m.: Introductory Speech: Alberto Marrero, President of Poetry Section from the Writer’s Assoc.

9.35 a.m.: Masterly Conference by Nancy Morejón, Literature National prizewinner.

10:00 a.m.: Remembering the 50th anniversary of Casa que no existía (The house that not existed), from Lina de Feria y Cabeza de zanahoria (Carrot Head), from Wichy Nogueras. Panel: Virgilio López Lemus, Jorge Ángel Hernández Pérez and Neyda Izquierdo.

11 a.m.: The Cuban poetry from lasts decades. Panel: Basilia Papastamatíu, Caridad Atencio, Israel Domínguez and Geovannys Manso.

12 m: Debate.

1 p.m.: Lunch.

2 p.m.: Readings by Ediel Pérez, Grisel Echeverría, Israel Domínguez and Esbérito Rosendi.

3 p.m.: Poetry readings: Liliana Celorrio, Clara Lecuona, Mariela de la Caridad Pérez, René Aselo Valdés, Geovannys Manso, Víctor Rolando Bellido, Reinaldo García Blanco, Zoleida Iglesias, Leidy Vidal.

March 21st

9:30 a.m.: Speech by Mrs. Katherine Müller Marín, Principal of UNESCO Regional Office, on World Poetry Day.

9.45 a.m.: Panel: Current poetry international panorama. Participant Roberto Méndez (Present Hispano-American Poetry), Víctor Fowler (Norte American Poetry), Ricardo Alberto Pérez (General contemporary poetry), Francisco Díaz Solar (poetry of Aleman tongue), Lourdes Arencibia (Haitian poetry: an arrow with fixed destiny).

1 p.m: Lunch.

2 p.m: Colección Sur catalog launch. By poet Karel Leyva.

3 p.m: Poetry Readings: Reynaldo García Blanco, Jámila Medina, Roberto Méndez, Mirtha Yáñez and Carlos Zamora.

4 p.m:  Show “Resistance”. Coordinated with Diego Guerra and Alexys Díaz.

March 22nd

9.30 a.m.: Panel about current ‘decima’ on Cuba. Participant: Virgilio López Lemus, Pedro Péglez and Juan Carlos García Guridi.

11 a.m: Reading of ‘decimistas’ poets: Pedro Péglez, Ediel González, Reina Esperanza y Rolando Avalos.

12 m: Presentation of young improvisers: Alex Díaz Hernández and Rolando Avalos.

1 p.m: Lunch.

2 p.m: Poetry Readings: Roberto Fernández Retamar, Nancy Morejón and Lina de Feria.

3 p.m: Show by Group Mimoclán Theater: Performance from texts of The Song of Songs, of Salomón and Asela of Eraclio Zepeda.

4 p.m: Short concert of Cuban songs from singer Verónica Velázquez.
